Junior National Club League - July 2007

Clissold Park Girls 12 and Under Tennis Team had a terrific win at the weekend in the Regional Play-off of the Junior National Club League.

Their home match against Harpenden Tennis Club was tied at 3-3 after singles and doubles matches had been played. Brielle Koulen, playing at number one defeated Lucy Smith 7/6(2),6/1 and joined with Savannah Sills to defeat Harpenden’s number one pair in the doubles 6/3,6/3. Emily Wickham playing at number three defeated Madeleine Scanlan 0/6,6/2,10/7.

In order to decide the tie Brielle and Savannah had to play a shoot out against Lucy Smith and Madeleine Scanlan which they won convincingly by 10 points to 6.

The team now go forward to the next round and will play either Halton T.C. from Buckinghamshire or Oxford Sports T.C.

 One more win will secure them a place in the National Finals.

In order to qualify for the Regional Play-offs the Clissold Park Team played in a Round Robin group of teams from all over Middlesex. They defeated teams from Esporta Northwood, South Hampstead, Teddington,Westway and Lensbury to be convincing winners of their group.

Clissold Park are currently looking for more girls to join their training squads so get in touch with the club if you are interested in performance training.
