CPJTC Annual Club Tournament

The 7th
Annual Clissold Park Tennis Tournament was held on
Sunday 9th September. Once again, the event
was blessed by good weather allowing all 20 finals to be
played without disruption. The event categories ranged
from under 8s to over 40s and included both singles and
doubles. The standard of the finals in the junior events
were very high, involving top county players competing
at each level. For the spectators, it was a great social
occasion. Many turned up to watch the entertaining
doubles events and enjoy the BBQ while watching who
would be the Men’s and Ladies Singles Champions of 2007.
The Ladies Final was won by Caroline Scally, who
defeated Minqwa Dang in a closely fought contest, 6-3,
6-7, 10-8. A former professional player originally from Brazil, Marcos Caruzo, won the Men’s Title
defeating

Park regular Richard
Boreham 6-3, 6-2. The event ran smoothly largely due to
the wonderful support of regular players and parents of
players on the Clissold Park
courts.
