Working with local schools

The schools' programme started in 2001 with the help of an Awards for All grant.

The club worked closely with the Hackney School Sports Partnership to provide quality coaching in Hackney primary and secondary schools. Since the demise of the Schools Sport Partnership we have continued to maintain the schools programme as much as possible.

We are currently working in the following primary schools in curricular and extra-curricular time:

Jubilee	William Patten	St.Pauls W St.Michaels
Colvestone	Millfields
Queensbridge	Southwold

Our coaches also run after-school clubs at the following schools:

Grazebrook	Stormont
The Bridge Academy	Mossbourne Academy

If you would like to have a tennis coach working in your school, please contact the Tennis Office. We can provide coaches for curricular and extra-curricular sessions, one-off taster sessions and special events.

Schools Tournaments

Every summer HCTC organises the Hackney Primary and Secondary Schools Tournaments.

Mini Red - pupils in Years 3 & 4
Mini Orange - pupils in Years 5 & below
Mini Green - pupils in Years 6 & below
13 & Under - pupils in Years 7 & 8
15 & Under - pupils in Years 9 & 10

Primary Schools Cluster Squads

Children from Hackney primary schools are selected each term to participate in Cluster Squads. These are held at various parks and venues throughout the borough.

If you attend a Hackney primary school and would like to be considered for one of these squads please contact the Tennis Office.
